Our New Baby Bee
This week a new baby bee (Beeson) joined our family.
Emmett and Garrison were excited to meet their new little sister, Maeve Elizabeth Beeson. Maeve was born 9/12/12 at 1:07pm. She weighed 7.12 pounds and 21 inches long.
Emmett, who is almost 6 yrs old, had declared a few months ago that he really wanted a sister. In fact, he announced that if he got another younger brother, he would promptly send him to live up-state with his Uncle Thomas because "he already had a brother"!
We didn't know if we were going to have a boy or girl, so it was pretty suspenseful right to the end.
Emmett was pretty excited to find out he got the sister he wanted.
A few months ago I bought these really tiny 2 oz honey bears. We filled them with homemade honey, and give them as thank you gifts to the nurses, doctors and staff members who helped us welcome our new baby.
The text on the label reads:
"Thank you BEARY much for helping us welcome our new HONEY!"
The staff was very excited to receive these, and asked great questions about what it's like to keep honeybees.
Both mom and baby are home now, and doing great!
