Video: Guard Bees Protecting The Hive
As I was inspecting the hives today, I saw some action down on one of the landing boards. In the fall, with little nectar sources, bees will sometimes attempt to sneak into other hives to rob some honey.
I grabbed my camera, and caught a foreign honeybee trying to enter the Blue/Purple hive.
Several guard bees from the Blue/Purple hive drug her out to the edge of the landing board and threw her off.
After shooting the video, I put in an entrance reducer so the guard bees of the Blue/Purple hive had a smaller entrance to guard.
